Pueblo, CO, March 8, 2021 – Villa Pueblo Senior Living Community is helping a very special resident celebrate her 105th birthday on March 30, 2021.
Martha Berg was born on March 30, 1916 in a small town just outside of Lincoln Nebraska. She worked as a teacher before meeting her husband. “My husband rescued me and married me” stated Martha. “He was a CPA and taught me accounting. I became the bookkeeper for eight of the Big and Tall Stores in Nebraska.”
Martha and her husband raised two children – one son and one daughter, “my daughter has already passed away” she said and added, “I have three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.” Martha and her husband resided in Arizona where they lived happily for 30 years before moving to Pueblo, Colorado in 2003 to be closer to their son, Larry.
When staff asked Martha if she has any advice regarding how to live a long and healthy life, she replied, “Not really. Just try to live a clean life.” Martha has resided at Villa Pueblo Senior Living for over twelve years and is loved by the staff and her neighbors.
“It would be wonderful if folks in the Pueblo community would send Martha a card or a note to wish her a happy birthday” said Frances Vincent, director of the independent living. “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if she received 105 cards to commemorate her special day? She would be thrilled,” she added.
If you would like to send Martha Berg a card, please mail to her at: Martha Berg, c/o Villa Pueblo Senior Living Community, 1111 Bonforte Blvd., Pueblo, CO 81001.
